                               RESOLUTION NO. 21487
                 
                 
                  A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A ZONING POLICY FOR THE
                  HIGHWAY 153 DEVELOPMENT CORRIDOR.

       	    	 WHEREAS, both the Horizon 2010 Comprehensive Plan and
       the North Suburban Area Plan show the section of Highway 153 from 

       Gadd Road north as a mixed use corridor; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, the development along this corridor should be a
       balance of commercial, office, institutional and various density
       residential uses; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, this corridor already has more than sufficient
       developed and undeveloped commercially zoned property for the
       mixed use concept; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional
       Planning Commission, on July 14, 1997, recommended to the City of 

       Chattanooga City Council that a Zoning Policy for Highway 153
       Corridor be adopted.
            	 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
       THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the attached Zoning
       Policy for Highway 153 Corridor North of Gadd Road be and the 
same
       is hereby adopted.
